Review – Claudia Newkirk

I’m pleased to provide this review for Claudia Newkirk of Berkshire Hathaway. Claudia recently assisted us with the sale of two parcels of unimproved vacant land in Valley Center, California (one of which has closed and the other is in escrow as I write this review), and she is a superb real estate agent. Claudia is highly knowledgeable, very experienced, positive, enthusiastic and energetic, cheerful, polite, polished, professional and sophisticated, and is detail-oriented without ever losing sight of the big picture. She’s a team player and provided valuable leadership, expertise and insight wherever needed, yet was flexible to meet our particular needs. She was always patient with us as we learned about the process and educated us along the way. And if we asked her a question that she wasn’t sure about, she readily told us she didn’t know, did not guess, did the work to find the correct answer and got back to us promptly. This inspired our confidence. 

Title to our properties are held in a Trust and Claudia and her experienced team at Berkshire Hathaway are very accustomed to the peculiarities of handling transactions involving trusts, estates and probate. Claudia has a great understanding of current and evolving market conditions in San Diego County. From the beginning, she offered creative marketing ideas and always took the initiative to develop and provide solutions to any unforeseen complications and problems as they arose. One of our properties fell out of escrow and she almost immediately had another buyer lined up for us without missing a beat which was very comforting. Claudia works swiftly and keeps to the agreed upon timelines and deadlines. She was always well prepared for every meeting and is a great communicator, keeping us well informed throughout the process and reaching out to us proactively whenever issues arose that needed our discussion, analysis and decisionmaking. We were never left guessing and never felt ignored, regardless of how busy she was with other matters. 

Claudia is multilingual and her language skills were very valuable in helping us to work with Spanish speaking potential buyers and contractors. We are remote sellers in our 60’s and long distance travel to the properties is challenging and time consuming for us. But it was all made easy because Claudia was our representative onsite at all times. She coordinated and helped direct onsite contractors for brush clearance, appraisals and inspections, and we always had complete confidence in her. Claudia goes above and beyond for her clients, sometimes working late nights and over weekends and holidays. She went out of her way and made the extra effort to meet with County departments and officials, and quickly did any necessary research to help us throughout the sale process. She is honest, imminently trustworthy and has great personal integrity. We were so lucky to find her and to be able to utilize her services as well as take advantage of the extensive resources, tools and relationships of Berkshire Hathaway. She’s a pleasure to work with and I can’t recommend Claudia Newkirk highly enough.
